Pastor's Blog

On Sunday, September 12 we begin a new church year. Here's a look at what's coming up in the months ahead:

Home Groups - You can sign up through September 12 to be a part of our home groups. There are sign up sheets available throughout the church or you can call the church office. Our first study is related to our home groups, it's called: What If Our Home Groups Made a Different. We'll look at what if we were honest, what if we failed, what if we cared, and what if we got off the couch?

Pastor's Sunday School Class - we will begin on September 12 and be studying a book called SIMPLE LIFE. This class is open to all, but I am specifically targeting those who are not in a Sunday School class.

RADICAL; our word for the coming year is RADICAL. Our first sermon series will come from the book of Acts and we'll talk about RADICAL CHURCH.

REACHING: GROWING; SERVING: is our new theme for the church year and is a synopsis of our command as followers of Christ to Go into all the world.

NEWSLETTER - in an effort to cut costs of printing and paper we will be posting the newsletter on the website and sending it out as an email. If you don't have access to the internet we will still mail your newsletter.

BULLETIN - on September 12 you will notice a change in the format of our bulletin. We will be going to one page, back and front. Most of our information usually posted on the bulletin will be posted on the website or the newsletter.

SUNDAY BREAKFAST - we will begin offering breakfast on Sunday morning on September 12.

WEDNESDAY SUPPER - we will begin our Wednesday suppers on September 8. The serving line opens at 5:30 and will close promptly at 6:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY LINEUP - We will offer something for everyone on Wednesday evenings. Children will be using a program called ELEVATE. Our youth will be using a program called FUEL. In OASIS WORSHIP we are currently in a sermon series on the book of James. Everything begins at 6:45 p.m.

We have just completed an awesome summer. Our attendance on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening has remained strong and even grown from where we were in the winter/spring. I believe our Sunday School attendance will go over 200 this coming year and also our Sunday worship will surpass 250. God is good and God is at work at Ridgeland Baptist. To God be the glory, great things He is and will continue to do. jfh
